Heavy Day... but what's the "workout"?

The workout today is just 5 sets of 5 Front Squats. It's not a trick, it's not a joke, there's no burpees or wall balls hiding on the whiteboard. We promise, you will be satisfied with the workout today.

This is a classic CrossFit "heavy day."Heavy days are an important part of our program, we incorporate them frequently. Heavy loads are the way that we improve everyone's top end power. The intent of the day is to challenge each athlete to squat the heaviest load safely possible for each of the 5 sets of 5. This means that there will be a warm up, some squat specific mobility, drills and then we will start lifting. Once you reach a heavy load, the sets of 5 will start.

So, lace up your lifting shoes and let's squat!
